The piece of religious history has now sold for an eye-watering priceCredit: @DWinterAuctionsThe historical item is a pocket sized bible written in Latin and includes 150 golden illustrations of dragons, birds and lions.
It dates back to 800 years ago and it represents a key historical period of the production of the bible.
Dominic Winter Auctions said: "This is a fine example of a typical Paris Bible, arguably the greatest revolution in both biblical scholarship and book production of the 13th century.
"Through the development of extremely thin vellum and extremely small script, it became possible for the first time to produce a complete bible in a single easily portable volume.
Paris Bible or Parisian Bible is known to be part of a series of books created by the University of Paris.
The institution transformed manuscripts traditionally produced by monks in monasteries to scriptures into the bibles we know today.
New productions were divided by chapters and included introductions and prologues in the first pages.
The book was intended for individual use rather than exclusively for monks in churches and monasteries.

Lottery's £5.2million jackpot is CLAIMED by 'single ticket-holder'Since then, the bible became a staple for everyone including students, bishops and priests.
Mr Winter added: "The production of large numbers of these bibles was probably in response to the needs of students at the burgeoning university of Paris and of itinerant friars.
"It was essential they were portable and they included calendars."
The artefact is thought to have been made between 1233 and 1240 for a Dominican friar.
It was later owned by a 19th century diplomat and also Beeleigh Abbey in Essex.
The piece of religious history fetched an eye-watering £42,000 earlier this week.
The book was sold at South Cerney, near Cirencester, Gloucestershire.
It comes as another 500-year-old book cover was previously sold for an eye-watering price after being kept in an old trunk for decades.
The embroidered bible casing has been dated back to the reign of Queen Elizabeth I - and went under the hammer for a whopping £120,000.
This incredible artefact is decorated with the iconic Tudor rose design, complimented with vibrant yellow, blue and red flowers.

Capcom President Thinks Game Prices Are 'Too Low'
Capcom president Harushiro Tsujimoto claims that the retail price of video games is currently too low.
According to a report from Nikkei (per a translation from Kotaku), during Tokyo Game Show 2023, Tsujimoto said that development costs for video games have become too high. "Development costs are about 100 times higher than during the Famicom era, but software prices have not gone up that much," he explained.
Additionally, he claimed that there needs to be pay raises, saying, "considering the fact that wages are rising in the industry as a whole, I think raising unit prices is a healthy option for business."
Tsujimoto also went on to claim that a slow economy wouldn't have a big impact on video game prices either: "Just because there's a recession doesn't mean you won't go to the movie theater or go to your favorite artist's concert. High-quality games will continue to sell," he said.
Publishers have started to charge $70, instead of the previous norm of $60, for PS5 and Xbox Series XS versions of their games during the current generation. This started with the big developers like Activision and Electronic Arts. First-party publishers like Sony didn't initially raise their prices own their PS5 games, as Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart and Returnal were $60. However, Horizon Forbidden West and God of War Ragnarok were given the $70 price tag on PS5, and the upcoming Spider-Man 2 will have that as well. Microsoft, too, followed suit late last year.
Even Nintendo priced its big sequel The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom at $70, although the company said it will evaluate pricing on a "case-by-case basis."
Capcom, however, has continued selling its own games, like Street Fighter 6, for $60. Even the iPhone 15 port of its Resident Evil 4 remake will cost the console standard of $60, it was revealed today.
It's possible that Capcom will raise the prices of the standard version of their current generation games to $70 in the future, however. One of Capcom's next big releases is Dragon's Dogma 2, which seems like a likely candidate for that price raise since it's a current-generation exclusive.

Minecraft's Dungeons & Dragons DLC Finally Has An Official Release Date
The blocky world of Minecraft was first announced to be receiving a Dungeons & Dragons DLC expansion back on March 28, but a release date was unknown until today.
Mojang's Sept. 22 installment of their Minecraft Monthly series confirmed that the highly anticipated DLC pack will officially be arriving on Sept. 26. More details about this epic expansion were also shared, and it looks like a great way to embark on an exciting journey alone or with friends.
Teaming up with friends will make for a vastly different experience. Image via MojangWhen the D&D pack launches, you can set off to explore "iconic locations" from the Forgotten Realms like Icewind Dale and Candlekeep. As you explore, you can battle classic foes like Beholders, Mimics, and Displacer beasts.
It wouldn't be a proper D&D adventure if you didn't get to choose your class, so of course the Minecraft D&D expansion starts by allowing you to customize all aspects of your character. You can choose your weapons, armor, statistics, and abilities, including learning classic spells that are a D&D staple. As you level up over time, you'll find that you become even more powerful and effective in battle.
Just like in D&D, you'll regularly have to pass ability checks to find success as you navigate through your adventure, so the ability points you assign your character will greatly affect how the game plays out for you.
Minecraft is known for its endless potential as a sandbox game that can go on forever, and D&D also has a similarly vast style with tons of quests to tackle, many formidable foes to take on, and so many areas to explore. All of these features are present in the Minecraft D&D DLC, so you can truly have the epic adventure of your dreams when this content launches.
D&D seems especially prominent among gamers right now thanks to the D&D-inspired game Baldur's Gate 3, which has become massively popular as it continues to break records, so this Minecraft DLC is another great option for players who are looking for other experiences like BG3.
The D&D pack launches on Sept. 26, and there will also be a special live stream featuring Minecraft creators participating in a special D&D adventure on Sept. 28. Once it is released, you will be able to find the D&D DLC in the Minecraft Marketplace store for 1,510 coins.
