Greater Cleveland clambake guide 2021: 24 events to check out this fall - cleveland.com
CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Besides the changing color of leaves, one thing that signifies the shift from summer to fall in Northeast Ohio is an abundance of clambake dinners.
With autumn right around the corner, local restaurants and organizations have announced their seafood events. Some function as fundraisers, while others occur as annual specials from Northeast Ohio's taverns, restaurants and bars.
This year, some clambakes are available to-go, due to the pandemic. (We suggest calling ahead to find more information about each restaurant's COVID-19 precautions and plans.)
Here are some of the clambakes taking place in Greater Cleveland in 2021:
Tinkers Creek Tavern
Take in a waterside view for Tinkers Creek Tavern's annual clambake season, which runs on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from Sept. 1 until Oct. 30. The clam dinner ($21.95) includes a dozen middleneck clams, clam chowder, mashed sweet potatoes, corn on the cob and a roll. Other dinners include clams and sides, along with a half-chicken ($29.95), a half-slab of smoked ribs ($33.95) and a strip steak ($37.95).

Mavis Winkle's Irish Pub
Mavis Winkle's in Twinsburg hosts clambakes on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays until Oct. 23. The bake includes a dozen clams, sweet potato, corn on the cob, bread and more. Customers can pick from a chicken bake for $18, or a full clambake for $29.99.

Blue Canyon Kitchen and Tavern
Get ready to feast at Blue Canyon Kitchen and Tavern's ongoing clambake, which takes place every Thursday and Friday from Sept. 23 until Nov. 5. Various meal options are available for order including blackened shrimp or pan-roasted chicken ($39), half-pretzel crusted trout or sweet soy and Thai chili glazed salmon ($49) and beef tenderloin or sea scallops ($59). All meals are served with clam chowder, a dozen clams and roasted potatoes.

Merwin's Wharf
Stop by Merwin's Wharf for a clambake on Fridays and Saturdays from Sept. 24 until Oct. 30. The dinners include a dozen clams with drawn butter, roasted redskin potatoes, corn, half a chicken, kielbasa and clam chowder. $35.

Flight Cleveland
Bar Oni will team up with Flight Cleveland to host a Japanese-style clambake on Sept. 25. Along with wine pairings, customers can enjoy a dozen clams, two chicken thigh yakitori skewers, smoked beef sausage, a shishito pepper skewer, Japanese sweet potato, corn and chicken tonkatsu broth with ramen noodles. Tickets $40.

Tall Oaks Event Complex
Popular '80s rock tribute band The Breakfast Club will provide the tunes for Tall Oaks' first-ever clambake event. With a ticket, customers can also enjoy a chicken dinner ($45), steak dinner ($55) or lobster dinner ($70) along with clam chowder, mussels, a dozen middleneck clams, coleslaw, a baked potato and a few selections from a dessert bar. Other fun is scheduled for the event, including outdoor lawn games. Kids can enjoy shrimp or chicken tenders for $15.

Celebrate Tremont
This year's "Celebrate Tremont" fundraiser will give back to the community's nonprofits and honor neighbors. This year, the event will honor three restaurateurs: Bonnie Flinner (Prosperity Social Club), Bernie Sokolowski (Sokolowski's) and Paulius Nasvytis (Velvet Tango Room).
A ticket to the event, hosted at Forest City Brewery, includes a clambake dinner (with vegan options available) and an open bar. Tickets $115.

Order a clambake ahead of time from Heinen's various Northeast Ohio locations. The dinners come in two options: a $19.95 traditional clambake (a dozen topneck, littleneck, or middleneck clams along with half a chicken, corn, potato, coleslaw, bread and clam broth) and a $43.95 "everyone's favorite clambake" (one lobster, half a pound of mussels, a dozen topneck, littleneck or middleneck clams, half a chicken, corn, potatoes, coleslaw,, bread and clam broth). Customers can order clambakes at Heinen's store seafood departments, with 72 hours of notice.
